Code of Conduct

Vancouver Bachata Events has established this Code of Conduct to provide guidelines for participants and to ensure that all attendees understand the expected behavior and what behavior will not be tolerated at Vancouver Bachata Events. Vancouver Bachata Events expects all participants to adhere to this Code of Conduct at all events.

Vancouver Bachata Events is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected categories. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Vancouver Bachata Events expects participants to:

1.       Be considerate and respectful to all attendees and staff.

2.       Refrain from engaging in demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior, materials, and speech.

3.       Speak up if they observe anything at an event that contradicts this Code of Conduct. If you are being harassed, feel uncomfortable, notice someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, please promptly contact a member of the Vancouver Bachata Events staff.

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR

Unacceptable behavior from any participant will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

1.       Engaging in intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech, materials, or conduct during the event and related activities. As many event venues are shared with the general public, please treat all patrons of these locations with respect.

2.       Using violence, making threats of violence, or directing violent language toward another person.

3.       Sharing sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.

4.       Issuing personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.

5.       Inappropriately photographing or recording individuals.

6.       Displaying boisterous, lewd, or offensive behavior or language, including but not limited to sexually explicit or offensive language, materials, or conduct. Also, any language, behavior, or content containing profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious, or ethnic slurs.

7.       Failing to obey any rules or regulations of the event venue.

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR

Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to cease unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behaviour, Vancouver Bachata Events may take appropriate action, including issuing warnings or expelling the offender from the event without a refund. For more serious incidents, Vancouver Bachata Events may, at its reasonable discretion, temporarily ban or permanently expel a participant from the event.
